His mission to help U.S. veterans may be ending in San Diego County, but John Stryker Meyer will be opening it on a new front.
Meyer is the co-founder and a trustee since 2007 of the Oceanside-based Veterans Association of North County (VANC), a one-stop resource association of veterans organizations; and has led Interfaith Community Service’s Veterans Advisory Committee. He has also filled key roles with other agencies, including the nonprofit Veterans Affordable Housing Program, which gets veterans into affordable housing communities in Southern California and other Western states; and with the American Veterans Assistance Group, which networks those communities.
